Laura E. Oliver
Laura has been a strong advocate in the courts for over 20 years. She has practiced exclusively in the area of family law since opening her practice in 2000. After 20 years of practice, Laura still loves what she does. Laura has attended before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal and has dealt with all aspects of litigation. Laura does not view herself as a ‘litigator”, however; she likes to think of herself as an advocate for her clients, helping her clients develop a plan and approach that is best suited to the individual client and his or her situation.
The practice of family law is different from any other area of law. We deal with emotions; very strong emotions. We deal with mental health issues, addiction issues and personality disorders – a lot. That means, from our perspective, traditional approaches are not always effective. We strive to appreciate the situation fully and develop a strategy to resolve the legal issues in a manner that improves the situation.
Kelly is the managing law clerk and office manager for Laura. Kelly has been working exclusively in the field of family law since 2015 and understands how stressful divorce and custody cases can be.
Kelly assists Laura in all aspects and manages the day-to-day administrative operations of the office. Kelly is the first point of contact for clients and is always there to help reach the best solution for the client and their families as quickly as possible.
Having went through this process herself, Kelly has a great deal of patience and empathy which enables her to connect with clients on a meaningful level.
Kelly is a very proud mother of three children. When she is not working, her time is spent with her children making memories.
Aneesha has been working exclusively in the field of family law since 2014. During her time as a law student and articling student, Aneesha worked on various interesting and complex family law cases and was routinely engaged in court proceedings and assisted in deliberations on a broad array of family disputes. Aneesha believes in resolving clients’ matters through the most efficient and cost-effective means possible and is excited to do so under the mentorship of Laura and her team. In her spare time, Aneesha enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking, and cooking.
